About Woman Genius

Those ORDINARY WOMEN…reveal the gift of their womanhood by placing themselves at the service of others in their everyday lives. For in giving themselves to others each day, women

fulfill their deepest vocation.

St. Pope John Paul II

Behind the icon

At first glance, the Woman Genius logo simply looks like the universal symbol for female with the genius symbol inside and a crown stacked on top…but it’s so much more.

The Woman Genius logo as a whole looks like a monstrance with the Eucharist in the center.

The female symbol represents Our Lady, and with the symbolism of the Eucharist mentioned above, Christ in her womb

The crown represents both Our Lady’s role as Queen of Heaven and Earth as well as a reminder of our adoption as daughters of the King.

Much like our mission statement, this icon was born out of inspiration, collaboration and a desire to lean into wherever the Holy Spirit leads.

We pray that every time any one of us sees this icon, we will remember how very loved we are and the depth, beauty and genius in which we were created.

Our Mission

Transforming hearts by unfolding the gift of femininity.

Inspired by the writings of St. Pope John Paul II who said that “necessary emphasis should be placed on the ‘genius of women,” we are inspired to take this journey to learn what that truly means in our every day life.

In the mystery of creation, God gave women unique gifts and strengths that set us apart and allow us to be uniquely present to others, among them being our ability to be receptive to others, to be sensitive to their needs, to nurture those around us and take care of them with our naturally generous spirit.

Our mission statement is, “Transforming hearts by unfolding the gift of femininity” and our mission is to inspire women to understand, embrace, and share the gifts enfolded within their femininity. St. Catherine of Siena said, “Be who God created you to be, and you will set the world on fire.” Our prayer is that each of us may answer that call to truly know who we are and see ourselves and others the way God sees us and then indeed, in small or large ways, as we’re called, set the world on fire.

A little about me:
40s, 6 kiddos, married 20+ years. I have a bachelors in communication arts from Franciscan University with a career background in branding, marketing and application design.

I am passionate about seeking understanding in all aspects of the faith as a Christian and Catholic, making a difference in the lives of my family and others, and truly becoming the woman that God is calling me to be.

Before Woman Genius, my understanding of femininity was:
Before reading Pope John Paul II’s work on the Genius of Women, I believed that the teachings on the “feminine genius” were subversive. I was not very open to exploring the gifts of femininity, because I was afraid they would confirm my fear that women were – in essence – meant to be seen and not heard.

I hope to learn on this journey:
More about my feminine “super-powers” and about how God can use them to transform my own heart as I become more vulnerable in loving others and truly seeing each person entirely as they were created.
